SENIOR ENGINEER – HYDROGEOLOGY (MIN 2304029)
This position will be based at Martabe Site in Mining Department and reports directly to Superintendent – of Geotechnical & Hydrogeology.
The role of the Senior Engineer – Hydrogeology is:
- Carry out pro-active daily open pit walls/waste dumps/TSF/main infrastructures hydrogeological monitoring activities, documented, evaluate, and reported Geotechnical & Hydrogeology Superintendent.
- Prepare information and interpretation and attend the daily and weekly production meetings and meeting with relevant “customers” to present and communicate particularly regarding surface and groundwater concerns/issues where required.
- Conduct pit slope depressurisation program & groundwater investigations and installation program.
- Assess the need and location for dewatering bore & slope depressurisation that has a potential adverse impact on slope stability.
- Ensure that all monitoring instrumentations installed in the open pit walls, waste dumps, and mine infrastructures are read regularly, recorded, evaluated, and consistently reported.
- Coordinate the generation of weekly summaries and a more comprehensive monthly monitoring report.
- Maintain the adequacy and ensure that all the current and future hydrogeological monitoring instrumentations (e.g., Open Standpipe, Piezometer, Dewatering Bores, Pit Slope Depressurisation/Horizontal Drains) are working properly at all times and identify then fix if any problem is observed.
- Generate a conceptual and detailed program for water management aspects of operating Pit and expansion
- Conduct relevant hydrogeological software analysis to better understand groundwater regime & characteristics.
Qualification
- Minimum Bachelor Degree Major in Geology, Geological Engineering, and Mining. A Master’s Degree in Hydrogeology would be preferable.
- At least 8 years of proven & practical experience in related mine hydrogeology and aspects (Mine Dewatering & slope Depressurisation) in open pit operations.
- Considerable in English skills both written and spoken.
- Capable to operate knowledge of technical software packages regularly used in Hydrogeology engineering (e.g. MODFLOW, MWS, etc.).
- Strong Leadership communication skills and ability to work within team.
- Poses minimum POP certificate from Indonesia Mining Department.
- Having exposure to hydrogeology characterisation to support Mine Slope Stability and conceptual Pit Development, contaminated site investigations, and Acid Mine Drainage
- Ability to listen and convey information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
