]]> This position will be located at the Martabe Site in the Processing (Maintenance)  Department and will report directly to the Supervisor – Mechanical (Shift).

The responsibilities of the Tradesperson 1 – Mechanical Fitter to provide practical support to the Mechanical team, ensuring maintenance, modifications, servicing, and installation activities are conducted professionally, safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. Prioritize tasks based on the needs of process plants and associated infrastructure, considering equipment and apparatus requirements. Collaborate closely with peers in Electrical/Instrumentation, Operations, Metallurgical, Maintenance Planning, and Warehouse teams for optimal role success.

Applicants for this position are expected to meet the following qualifications and criteria:

  1. Diploma from a Polytechnic/Technical training institute or completion of an approved Apprenticeship program with Mechanical Fitter qualifications.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position within the mining, oil & gas, or similar heavy industrial environment.
  3. Demonstrated experience and knowledge in maintaining fixed plant equipment such as crushers, belt/screw conveyors, vibrating screens, SAG/Ball/Vertical mills, pumps, and hydraulic systems.
  4. Understanding of world-class mining standards and associated safety regulations (ANZS, BS, IEC & ASTM) as well as Environmental Acts & Regulations.
  5. Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, problem-solving, and inspection processes.
  6. Familiarity with mechanical installation methods and practices.
  7. Awareness of occupational hazards within the mineral processing industry.
  8. Ability to effectively understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  9. Proficiency in interpreting mechanical drawings.
  10. Excellent communication skills and collaborative spirit for teamwork.
  11. Ability to accurately prepare materials and equipment for tasks/projects.
  12. Skill in report writing and maintaining accurate records.
  13. Computer literacy with a basic understanding of “Computer Maintenance Management Systems” (CMMS).
