Amid the post-disaster recovery process, Agincourt Resources carried out a Community Fun Day. This activity was not only intended as a space for togetherness, but also served as a platform to listen directly, gain a deeper understanding, and respond to the needs of disaster survivors. The event was held on 18th April 2026 at the Temporary Shelter (Hunian Sementara/Huntara) in Napa Village.

Through this initiative, Agincourt Resources together with the community sought to rebuild the spirit and hope that had been affected. Various simple activities such as morning group exercise, educational games, and questionnaire filling were conducted as part of a participatory approach. These activities not only created a sense of togetherness but also became an important means to map community needs in a more structured and targeted way.

From this process, it is expected that well-targeted training and community development programmes will emerge, enabling disaster survivors to recover, become self-reliant, and establish sustainable livelihoods.

“Community Fun Day was initiated as a space for us to truly listen to the voices of the community. Every interaction and input we receive becomes a crucial foundation in designing more precise and sustainable recovery programmes. We hope this activity can serve as an initial step towards rebuilding community independence,” said the Superintendent of Local Economic Development, Yandi Rama Krisna.

Meanwhile, the Head of Garoga Village, Risman Rambe, expressed appreciation for the implementation of the programme, which is considered to have brought positive impact to the community. “This activity not only fosters togetherness but also revives the community’s spirit to recover and rebuild their lives. We hope such collaboration continues for the greater good of the community in the future,” he said.

Batang Toru, 16 December 2025 – The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has provided humanitarian assistance to victims of flash floods and landslides in Garoga Village and surrounding areas, Batang Toru District, South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra. The assistance was officially handed over to the South Tapanuli Regency Government and distributed with operational support from PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR), the government’s local partner with established infrastructure, resources, and emergency response capabilities in the affected areas.

The handover of the assistance took place at PTAR’s logistics office in Batang Toru, which has served as a coordination and logistics distribution center since the beginning of the disaster to support the local government and relevant ministries. The assistance provided comprised 267 tents of various sizes, including 4×4-meter family tents, 10 jet cleaner units, chainsaws, mattresses, and emergency lamps to support the recovery of disaster-affected communities.

During the handover, a representative of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources symbolically presented the assistance to the Assistant for General Administration of the South Tapanuli Regional Secretariat, Triyanta Hadil Khoiri Dairiyawan, and the Head of Garoga Village, Risman Rambe, accompanied by the General Manager Operations&Deputy Director Operations of Agincourt Resources, Rahmat Lubis.

Triyanta expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for its attention and tangible support for the people of South Tapanuli, as well as to PT Agincourt Resources for providing operational support in the distribution of aid on the ground.

“Thank you to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for its concern and concrete assistance for the people of South Tapanuli. PTAR’s operational support has been instrumental in enabling the local government to distribute state aid more quickly and effectively, particularly to areas with limited access,” he said.

Meanwhile, Rahmat Lubis emphasized that PT Agincourt Resources fully supports the distribution of assistance from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources through close coordination with the local government.

“With the resources, infrastructure, and emergency response teams we have, PTAR will distribute this assistance from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to survivors in Garoga Village and surrounding affected villages, through evacuation shelters coordinated by the South Tapanuli Regency Government. We operate under the guidance of the local government to ensure that the distribution is orderly, transparent, and reaches those most in need,” he said.

Since the disaster occurred, PTAR, together with the South Tapanuli Regency Government, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Indonesian National Armed Forces and Police (TNI-Polri, PTAR’s Disaster Preparedness Team, the ESDM Emergency Response Group (ERG), and volunteers have established command posts, set up public kitchens, provided healthcare services, and deployed heavy equipment and helicopters to open access and deliver logistics to isolated areas.

Rahmat expressed hope that the additional assistance from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will further strengthen the support from the local government and business partners in restoring the conditions of communities affected by the floods and landslides in Batang Toru.

“This assistance not only strengthens logistics on the ground but also demonstrates that the central government, local government, and business partners are working in unison to accelerate the recovery of the community. At PTAR, we will ensure that every support entrusted to us truly reaches the people in need,” said Rahmat.

Support from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources strengthens the synergy between the central government, local governments, and business actors in the affected areas. PTAR is committed to continuing as a trusted government partner in supporting emergency response and community recovery efforts, in line with principles of responsible and sustainable operations.

The post-disaster recovery process in Garoga Village continues to show positive progress. Through collaboration between the government, the community, and Agincourt Resources, essential facilities supporting daily life have gradually returned to operation, marking Garoga’s steady recovery.

As part of its ongoing support, Agincourt Resources has contributed to the construction of a new and more adequate disaster response post. The facility is equipped with proper health services, enabling basic medical care for affected residents to be delivered more quickly, safely, and in a coordinated manner. The post now serves as a centre for recovery activities as well as a tangible symbol of support for the community.

In addition, the community kitchen continues to operate as a space for togetherness. Notably, it is not only run by volunteers but also actively involves Garoga residents, who work side by side to prepare meals three times a day. Beyond meeting basic food needs, this collective effort strengthens solidarity and mutual support during the recovery period.

Another encouraging development is the reopening of Garoga Mosque, which has resumed Friday prayers. The return of religious activities marks an important step in restoring the community’s social and spiritual life, bringing comfort and renewed hope to residents.

Through infrastructure support, essential services, and community empowerment, Agincourt Resources reaffirms its commitment to standing alongside Garoga throughout the recovery process. Together with all stakeholders, these efforts are expected to accelerate recovery and help rebuild a more resilient community for the future.

In support of recovery efforts, Agincourt Resources, in collaboration with Nurani Astra, distributed humanitarian aid in the form of basic food supplies. The aid was provided at several locations, namely to employees in Anggoli, as well as symbolically at the Sopo Daganak and Balai Marguna posts to employee representatives.
Batang Toru, July 3, 2025 – PT Agincourt Resources, the operator of the Martabe Gold Mine, launched the program “Action to Make Ecobricks from the Heart for the Earth” in Garoga Village, Batang Toru Subdistrict, South Tapanuli, North Sumatra. This program aims to collect and process 10,000 plastic bottles into ecobricks while also raising public awareness about the importance of sustainable waste management based on the principles of a circular economy.

General Manager Operations & Deputy Director Operations of Agincourt Resources, Rahmat Lubis, stated that “Ecobrick Action from the Heart for the Earth” is an initiative by PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR) to commemorate World Environment Day, which this year carries the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution.” This initiative aligns with the sustainability principles that the Company always upholds.

“This initiative is also part of our broader theme, Living in Harmony, which emphasizes the balance between operational performance, environmental sustainability, and community empowerment. This effort also represents our support for the national targets of managing 50% of waste by 2025 and 100% by 2029,” said Rahmat after launching the program on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

The program involves four waste banks supported by PTAR: Gocap, Satahi, Naposo Hamubaon, and Rap Hita Paias. Over the next 6 to 8 months, they will undergo collaborative training with Waste4Change and Yamantab Waste Bank to produce ecobricks independently.

Following the program launch, PTAR held a Creative Environmental Management Workshop on ecobrick-making on July 3, 2025, at Sopo Daganak, Batang Toru. The workshop was attended by representatives from Adiwiyata schools in Batang Toru, environmental community groups, and the four waste banks partner supported by PTAR.

Rahmat explained that since the Martabe Gold Mine began operations in 2011, the company has implemented various environmental preservation programs, ranging from conservation and reclamation to circular-based domestic waste management, including the construction of a waste sortation facility (WSF) within the mining area.

Read Also: Waste Sortation Facility Agincourt Resources’ Innovation in Sustainable Waste Management

From June 2024 to May 2025, approximately 71% of the total waste entering the WSF can be recycled or resold. The WSF, managed by a local vendor, also processes waste into economically valuable products such as Eco Enzyme, maggots, furniture, and compost.

“Since 2 years ago, we have prohibited employees and contractors from using single-use plastic bottles in the workplace and required them to use refillable bottles,” said Rahmat.

As part of the World Environment Day celebration series, PTAR also released 1,000 jurung fish into the lubuk larangan in Garoga Village, and planted 500 tree seedlings, including sugar palm (aren), durian, avocado, matoa (Pometia pinnata), jengkol (Archidendron pauciflorum), and mangosteen.

Garoga Village was chosen as the commemoration location cannot be separated from its achievement as the 1st Place winner of the Eco-Friendly Village Competition held by PTAR in 2024. Garoga Village is considered capable of creating a clean and healthy environment through various efforts, including establishing a waste bank, cultivating family medicinal plants, and conserving water in the Garoga River.

The Regent of South Tapanuli, Gus Irawan, welcomed PTAR’s initiative to reduce plastic waste through community-involved recycling education. He emphasized the importance of solid collaboration between companies, local governments, and communities in creating a cleaner and more sustainable environment.

“Efforts to reduce plastic waste are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.” Meanwhile, tree planting is a tangible way to maintain the balance of the ecosystem. This is not just a step for today, but a long-term investment for the future of our children and grandchildren,” he said.
