PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR) through the Community Development Department held a Declaration Party to Stop Open Defecation Free (ODF) in Batangtoru and Muara Batangtoru Sub-Districts, on Wednesday, 21 December 2022 in Sopo Daganak. The Stop ODF Declaration Party was also held to support the realization of independent hygienic community behavior to improve health quality, prevent environment-based diseases, increase access to drinking water and sanitation, as well as support the vision of the South Tapanuli Government. The Declaration to Stop ODF was attended by more than 500 people.
The Declaration Party was opened by the Regional Secretary of South Tapanuli M. Frananda. PTAR Community Senior Manager Christine Pepah said, PTAR has been working hard since 2015 or about 7 years to support increasing public awareness of a healthy lifestyle in the villages surrounding the Martabe Gold Mine.
Apart from the Stop ODF Declaration Party, this activity was also enlivened by a carnival with the theme of the 5 pillars of the STBM (Community Based Total Sanitation) program, health seminars, awarding certificates and awards for Stop ODF, dance, and drama performances. Also present was the Acting Head of the South Tapanuli Health Service, dr. Rudi Iskandar Harahap, For Kompinca Batangtoru and Muara Batangtoru, district and sub-district PKK, sub-district heads in South Tapanuli, heads of health centers in South Tapanuli, and the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) South Tapanuli.
