11 Students Set to Embark on Heavy Equipment Mechanic Training at UT School Jakarta

Agincourt Resources held a friendly gathering for 11 students who have successfully passed the selection for the Basic Mechanic Course (BMC) program. The event was held on July 13, 2024 at RecHall, Martabe and was attended by representatives from Polytechnic Astra, United Tractors (UT) School, and parents of students. The BMC program is a new collaboration between Agincourt Resources and UT School Jakarta which aims to produce skilled heavy equipment mechanics from the children of Batang Toru and Muara Batang Toru Districts. The selected participants will undergoan intensive training at UT School Jakarta for one full year. This activity is part of the Community Development and Empowerment Program in Education for 2024. 

Deputy General Manager Operations Agincourt Resources, Wira Dharma Putra, said that the BMC was launched as a commitment of the company to improve the quality of Human Resources (HR) in the vicinity of its operational area.

“This program opens up opportunities for young people in Batang Toru and Muara Batang Toru to develop the heavy equipment mechanic skills needed in the mining industry,” said Wira. “Through this training, we hope that the participants can become skilled mechanics and are ready to work at Agincourt Resources or other companies in the future.” 

One of the students who passed the BMC selection, Aro Firmansyah, expressed his gratitude to Agincourt Resources for the opportunity given. 

“I am very grateful for this opportunity,” said Aro. “I will study hard and not waste the opportunity given by Agincourt Resources. I want to be a skilled mechanic and make my parents and hometown proud.”
