Agincourt Resources’ Fisherman Empowerment Program Yields Abundant First Harvest!

Aug 25, 2024

On Sunday, August 25, 2024, joy filled the faces of the fishermen in Kampung Suka Maju, Desa Hapesong Baru, Batang Toru District. The empowerment program initiated by Agincourt Resources has reached a significant milestone with the successful first harvest of nirwana tilapia. The initial sales of 51 kg of fish sold in the surrounding villages for Rp1.78 million indicate that their efforts have yielded tangible results.

The journey to the success of this first harvest was not easy. Since March 31, 2024, the fishing group has been diligently caring for the aquaculture ponds. Thanks to hard work and guidance from experts, they have successfully overcome various challenges.

Agincourt Resources Community Development Manager Rohani Simbolon stated, “The success of this program is inseparable from the good collaboration between Agincourt Resources, the village government, the fishing group, and the experts. I would like to thank all parties involved. This kind of collaboration will bring positive changes to the community. Let us continue to work together to achieve even greater goals,” she said.

To ensure the sustainability of the program, the fishing group has prepared a stock of 15,000 nirwana tilapia fingerlings from natural breeding. This demonstrates the group’s commitment to continuing to develop the fisheries business and improve community welfare.
