Agincourt Resources once again disseminated the results of processed water sample testing to stakeholders, including local communities and the government. The dissemination event took place on Friday, January 17, 2025, in Aek Sabaon, Marancar. Accredited laboratory tests confirmed that the quality of processed water from mining operations as of December 2024 met the standards set by the government. The sample test conducted on December 17, 2024, showed that all 11 parameters, including pH levels, Total Suspended Solids (TSS), and concentrations of heavy metals such as Free Cyanide, Arsenic, and Cadmium, were below the regulatory thresholds.
General Manager Operations and Deputy Director Operations at Agincourt Resources, Rahmat Lubis, highlighted that the Martabe Gold Mine manages its processed water at an on-site Water Treatment Plant using advanced technology specifically designed to ensure the discharged water is safe for the ecosystem. “We firmly believe that responsible mining operations can coexist with environmental preservation. Therefore, we continuously innovate in managing processed water to ensure no adverse impacts on the Batangtoru ecosystem,” said Rahmat Lubis.

Every month, the Integrated Processed Water Quality Monitoring Team, in collaboration with Agincourt Resources’ Environment Department, monitors water quality by collecting samples from eight discharge points. The samples are analyzed by an independent laboratory, PT Intertek Utama Services, to ensure compliance with quality standards. The evaluation results are then disseminated to the surrounding mining communities on a biannual basis. Agincourt Resources has consistently implemented measures to ensure compliance with water quality standards since 2013.
