Batang Toru, March 17, 2025 – PT Agincourt Resources, the operator of Martabe Gold Mine distributed aid to 2,500 families affected by flash floods caused by heavy rainfall in Padangsidimpuan City, Angkola Muara Tais District and Sayur Matinggi District in South Tapanuli, North Sumatra. The aid, consisting of staple food supplies, towels, and sarongs, had been distributed to affected residents to support post-disaster recovery.
The distribution of aid, totaling Rp987 million, was carried out in several phases since March 15, 2025. The aid distribution was prioritized in areas severely affected by the floods, in coordination with the local government.
The General Manager Operations & Deputy Director Operations of Agincourt Resources, Rahmat Lubis, expressed his concern over the disaster and emphasized the importance of collaboration in assisting the affected communities.

“We deeply sympathize with the tragedy that has affected our brothers and sisters in South Tapanuli and Padangsidimpuan City. Agincourt Resources is always ready to assist the community in emergencies like this. We hope this aid will be useful and help ease the burden of those affected,” he said during the aid distribution in Sayur Matinggi District, on Sunday (March 16, 2025).
The aid was distributed through emergency response posts coordinated by the local government. In addition to staple food supplies such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, bottled water, canned fish, and eggs, PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR) also distributed towels and sarongs.
According to Rahmat Lubis, the company will continue to coordinate with the relevant parties to ensure that the aid reaches those in need and is beneficial for them.
Meanwhile, the Regent of South Tapanuli, Gus Irawan Pasaribu, appreciated the fast actions taken by Agincourt Resources in distributing aid to the affected residents. He also offered support and encouragement to the flood-affected communities.

“Thank you very much for the concern shown by Agincourt Resources. The presence of both the government and Agincourt Resources is hoped to serve as a source of encouragement for all of you. Let us pray together that we are always granted good health and kept away from disasters,” he said.
The Mayor of Padangsidimpuan City, Letnan Dalimunthe, also expressed appreciation to Agincourt Resources for its concern for the flood-affected residents.
“I got goosebumps seeing the concern and fast emergency response of Agincourt Resources. We express our deepest gratitude for the assistance provided. This assistance is very meaningful for the affected communities,” he said.
One of the affected residents in Pargumbangan Village, Rawani, shared her story of when the flood hit.
“The flood occurred around 2:00 AM. The river sounded very loud, and my house is only one meter away from the river. The flood reached waist height and started receding around 10:00 AM. This was the worst flood since 2017,” she said.

She also expressed her gratitude for the aid provided by Agincourt Resources. According to her, in situations like this, the community really needs clean water and food.
