The village of Sipagimbar, located in Saipar Dolok Hole Subdistrict, was the vibrant host of the 57th Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) of South Tapanuli Regency, held over three days from 1–3 May 2025. Officially opened by the Regent of South Tapanuli, H. Gus Irawan Pasaribu, the event served not only as a competition but also as a platform for Islamic propagation, community bonding, and shared pride.
Batara Wisnu Field was filled with the spirit of approximately 590 participants from 15 sub-districts, including Batang Toru and Muara Batang Toru. They competed in nine categories, including tilawah (Qur’anic recitation), tahfiz (memorization), tartil (measured recitation), and the writing of papers on the Qur’an and Hadith. Each participant shared the same goal: to give their best for their respective regions while strengthening the values of the Qur’an in daily life.
The festivity was not only evident in the enthusiasm of the participants but also in the support from various stakeholders who believe that the spirit of Islamic propagation must be continuously upheld. Among them was Agincourt Resources, whose presence and support reflected the company’s ongoing commitment to nurturing a generation grounded in strong character and morality.
As a token of appreciation for the talent and dedication of the participants, Agincourt Resources awarded a pilgrimage package worth IDR40 million. This contribution was intended to motivate young qaris and qariahs to keep refining their skills and deepening their love for the Qur’an.
“This MTQ is not merely about winning, but about how we sustain Islamic values in everyday life and strengthen the bonds among community members. I extend my gratitude to all contributors, including Agincourt Resources, for their sincere support,” said Gus Irawan in his remarks.
Sayur Mattinggi Subdistrict emerged as the Overall Champion, taking the title from Muara Batang Toru, which placed second this year. The host, Saipar Dolok Hole, followed closely as the third overall champion.
