The spirit of loving and preserving Indonesian culture came alive once again through Indonesia Menari 2025, an initiative by Indonesia Kaya. This year’s event took place simultaneously across major cities in Indonesia, including Sun Plaza Medan on 12th October 2025. Out of 84 dance troupes representing the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, Sanggar Seni Sopo Daganak (SANIPODA) proudly represented South Tapanuli.

Three SANIPODA groups delivered captivating performances by blending elements of traditional and modern dance. Under the guidance of Putri Norma Sari, Sudarso, and Rengky Ritonga, the groups successfully advanced to the top 16 round. As newcomers, this achievement marks a proud milestone amid fierce competition with established dance studios from various regions.

In addition to competing, SANIPODA was also selected as one of five dance studios from across Indonesia to appear in the national documentary Indonesia Menari, produced by Indonesia Kaya. The filming took place from Sopo Daganak to Medan, showcasing the training journey, togetherness, and the spirit of the children in preserving traditional dance arts.

SANIPODA’s participation is not merely about competition, but also about nurturing discipline, confidence, and a love for culture among the younger generation. Through their artistry and passion, the children of SANIPODA have proven that dance is more than movement—it is a language of the heart that preserves the nation’s cultural heritage.
