This position is located at the Martabe Site within the MPDE Department and reports directly to the Senior Engineer – Mechanical Project.
The role of the Engineer – Mechanical Project is to:
- Analyse project requirements and develop mechanical engineering plans.
- Develop project scopes, schedules and budgets for mechanical works.
- Work with design teams to ensure mechanical plans meet technical requirements and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and regulatory authorities to facilitate project execution.
- Manage budgets, timelines and resources for mechanical project elements
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing potential issues
- Coordinating with other engineering disciplines (process, instrumentation, civil, etc)
- Participating in design reviews ((3D reviews, HAZOP, etc.)
- Providing technical support and guidance to project teams.
- Contribute to scopes of work, tender packages, tender evaluations and project management tools to ensure that the Company is financial and legally protected while achieving optimal value on project expenditure.
- Stay updated on the latest engineering technologies and best practices.
Candidates for this position are expected to meet the following qualifications and criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a recognised University
- 3 to 5 years of experience in piping engineering.
- Technical expertise in reading and interpreting mechanical, structural drawings, and weld symbols.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAE software
- Solid knowledge of design codes and standards (ANSI, ASME, API, ASTM, etc.).
- Team player with strong organizational skills, autonomy, and attention to detail.
- Successful track record of overseeing construction contractors in a safe and efficient manner, across multiple sites.
- Ability to interpret and implement engineering designs across multiple disciplines.
- Ability to implement and manage field QA/QC programs across multiple disciplines.
- Superior work ethic, be able to effectively communicate with all staff and display a high degree of respect to the local people and their culture
