This position is located at the Martabe Site within the Exploration Department and reports directly to the Superintendent – Exploration.
The Senior Geologist – Exploration is responsible for providing leadership and technical oversight to ensure the Company’s exploration programmes are planned and executed to a high technical standard, in a practical and cost-effective manner, and in accordance with industry best practices for health, safety, environment, and community relations.
The role supports the Exploration Superintendent in delivering the annual plan of operations and contributes to the development of yearly exploration programmes, including the introduction of new ideas and concepts with the potential to generate new discoveries across the PTAR Property.
Candidates for this position are expected to meet the following qualifications and criteria:
- A minimum of bachelor’s degree in Geology.
- Extensive experience (>10 years) in gold and base metals exploration with a broad knowledge of deposit styles and exploration methods and technologies in a variety of terrains
- Computer literate, including database management, with exposure to MapInfo, Leapfrog, and Micromine software for data processing and interpretation.
- Good ability in rock/mineral identification, mapping, sampling, data capture, and logging techniques.
- Have experience in exploration for epithermal Au-Ag and porphyry Cu-Au deposits.
- Have an Operational Supervisory Level 1 certificate (Pengawas Operasional Pertama)
- Have experience in establishing and managing projects and teams in remote locations with minimum supervision.
- Ability to plan and execute exploration work programs.
- Able to work effectively under constant pressure with modest support.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and drive programs to deliver results.
- Knowledge of exploration geology, development, and mining.
- Strong background in ore deposits, geochemistry, structure, and mineral identification
