JUNIOR SUPERVISOR – COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE (CD 2508040)

This position will be based on the Martabe Gold Mine Site, within the Community Development, and will report directly to the Supervisor Community Infrastructure.

The Junior Supervisor for Community Infrastructure plays a critical role in monitoring and ensuring the effective implementation of community infrastructure programs. This position is responsible for conducting direct field supervision, consolidating progress reports from the Senior Officer for Community Infrastructure, and identifying field-level issues that require timely attention.

Key responsibilities include evaluating project execution, providing recommendations, and offering practical solutions to contractors or construction committees. The Junior Supervisor also manages the collection of field data, prepares progress reports, and reviews the performance of contractors or program implementers.

A core requirement of this role is the ability to design and calculate simple structures, as well as to plan and oversee project implementation to ensure compliance with technical standards and specifications. Administrative duties include maintaining complete documentation, preparing supporting reports, and compiling photographic evidence of project progress. Equally important, the Junior Supervisor is expected to build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, collect baseline data on community infrastructure within the DAV area, and carry out monitoring and evaluation to drive continuous improvement in program delivery.

Candidates for this position are expected to meet the following qualifications and criteria:

  1. Minimum education of D4/bachelor’s degree (S1) in Civil Engineering (Civil Construction, Building Construction, Building Maintenance and Repair, Road and Bridge Design, or Road and Bridge Maintenance).
  2. Valid Class A and C driving licenses.
  3. At least 5 years of experience in Civil Engineering and project supervision.
  4. Solid understanding of fundamental principles of building construction.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
  6. Ability to plan building construction and prepare a Bill of Quantities (BoQ) or Cost Estimates (RAB).
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with communities, stakeholders, and team members.
  8. Competence in preparing and analyzing program progress reports.
  9. Understanding of QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) systems relevant to civil engineering.
  10. Personal attributes: integrity, honesty, hardworking, proactive, eager to learn, and collaborative.
