This position is located at the Martabe Site within the MPDE Department and reports directly to the Manager – Project Construction.
The Role of Superintendent – Project Mechanical is:
- Oversee and manage on-site mechanical activities of approved capital projects for construction, installation, and maintenance projects, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget, according to specifications and standards to achieve planned project benefits for the Company.
- To organize and develop the assigned subordinates to optimize workable time.
- Inclusive of monitoring and controlling construction contractor workforces, progress, design and specification compliance and all QA/QC systems.
- Direct Supervision for structural, mechanical and piping.
- Contribute to scopes of work, tender packages, tender evaluations and project management tools to ensure that the Company is financial and legally protected while achieving optimal value on project expenditure.
- Contribute to project reporting inclusive of contractor progress, delays and opportunities, scope changes and all potential contract variations.
Candidates for this position are expected to meet the following qualifications and criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a recognised University
- 10 years or more in a Senior Engineering and Construction position, overseeing large scale mining Construction projects.
- Technical expertise in reading and interpreting mechanical, structural drawings, and weld symbols.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to guide teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards
- Ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Successful track record of overseeing construction contractors in a safe and efficient manner, across multiple sites.
- Ability to interpret and implement engineering designs across multiple disciplines.
- Ability to implement and manage field QA/QC programs across multiple disciplines.
- Thorough knowledge of Indonesian and international design standards
- Superior ability to identify constructability issues and develop mitigation techniques with the installation contractors.
- Superior work ethic, be able to effectively communicate with all staff and display a high degree of respect to the local people and their culture
