Agincourt Resources officially handed over a brand new, permanent Posyandu building to Wek II Village in Batangtoru Subdistrict on Thursday, May 30th, 2024. The ceremony included representatives like Batangtoru Subdistrict Head Mara Tinggi and Wek II Village Head Ahiruddin Siregar. Previously, Wek II Village’s Posyandu program relied on temporary facilities at a TK PAUD due to the lack of a permanent building.
Agincourt Resources’ Community Development Manager, Rohani Simbolon, highlighted the crucial role Posyandu plays in communities. These centers serve as a platform for communication, public health services, and even early-stage human resource development. “The absence of a permanent structure was a major hurdle,” Simbolon said. “Having to rely on the school wasn’t ideal. This new Posyandu building will significantly improve public service delivery, particularly in the area of public health for toddlers, children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.”
