Fostered Culinary Entrepreneurs Boost Profits with Licensing Training and Benchmarking Study

Agincourt Resources conducted a series of business licensing facilitation activities for its partnered culinary entrepreneurs. These activities, held from August to September 2024, included food safety training, tax education, and technical assistance for Business Identification Number (NIB) registration. The main goal was to provide business owners with an understanding of the importance of licensing and to facilitate the process of obtaining their business permits. 

 The series began with food safety training on August 1, 2024, at the Tapanuli Selatan District Health Office Auditorium. In collaboration with the ECK Medan Health Training Institute, participants were taught about safe food additives and hygienic food preparation. On Monday, August 12, 2024, business owners participated in a tax education session and received technical assistance for Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) registration, facilitated by the Primary Tax Office (KPP) in Padangsidimpuan.

 The final stage, on September 3, 2024, involved a session on business licensing and technical assistance for NIB registration, led by the South Tapanuli Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Office (PMPTSP). 

Christine Pepah, Senior Manager of Community at Agincourt Resources, stated in her remarks, “We are deeply committed to supporting the growth of MSMEs around our operational area. Through this business licensing facilitation, we aim to help our partnered culinary entrepreneurs develop their businesses more professionally and sustainably. With complete business permits, their products will be more easily accepted in the market and have added value.” 

 Dian Anggraini Siregar, one of the training participants, expressed her gratitude for the support provided by Agincourt Resources. “As a partnered MSME of Agincourt Resources, I have received tremendous help in managing my business permits. I now better understand the importance of having legitimate business licenses,” she said. 

In a separate event, a benchmarking study visit to Payakumbuh, West Sumatra, was also held. The activity, which took place from Thursday to Sunday, August 29 – September 1, 2024, aimed to give partnered culinary entrepreneurs the opportunity to learn from the experiences and best practices of successful culinary businesses in the city.

We also hope this activity will inspire them to continue growing their businesses and achieve even greater success.”

 During the study visit, participants visited two well-known MSME culinary production sites in Payakumbuh: Sanjai Anna and Erina Rendang Payakumbuh. Both businesses have been operating since 1980 and have extensive experience in managing culinary enterprises. At these locations, participants not only observed the production process but also had the opportunity to engage in discussions with the business owners and workers. 

Ery Susanti, one of the participants in the benchmarking study, expressed her excitement about the experience. “This activity was truly memorable, and I gained so much new knowledge and experience, especially on how to process food for longer shelf life. I was also inspired by the clean and modern production kitchens. It felt like gaining new knowledge while on a vacation,” she shared.
