2025 Journalism Competition
Agincourt Resources, operator of the Martabe Gold Mine, is once again hosting a prestigious competition for journalists across Indonesia: the 2025 Journalism Competition.
Theme:
“ESG in Action: Sustainable Mining for Social and Environmental Harmony”
Optional Subthemes:
- Conservation and Biodiversity
Highlighting stories about mining companies’ initiatives in environmental conservation, water management, and biodiversity protection, both within and beyond operational areas. - Green Innovation in Mining
Exploring how mining companies adopt environmentally friendly operational practices, such as renewable energy use, energy efficiency, and dry tailings management. - Improving Quality of Life
Focusing on the contribution of mining companies in expanding access to education and skills development for children, women, and youth, as well as improving healthcare services for surrounding communities. - Building the Local Economy
Highlighting collaborations between mining companies and local communities to create sustainable business opportunities, enhance local business capacity, and strengthen economic independence around operational areas.
Participant and Submission Guidelines:
- Participants must be Indonesian citizens.
- Participants must be journalists or freelance journalists working in local, national, or foreign news agencies (print or online).
- Submitted journalistic works (hereafter referred to as entries) must be written in either Bahasa Indonesia or English, in the form of soft news/features or in-depth articles.
- Entries must align with the main theme and selected subtheme, and be related to Agincourt Resources, operator of the Martabe Gold Mine.
- Entries must be original works and free of plagiarism.
- Entries must not be translations, adaptations, or summaries.
- Entries must have been published in an online or print media outlet where the journalist works, between 27 May and 30 October 2025.
- The author bears full responsibility for the content. Agincourt Resources is not liable for any legal disputes that may arise, including claims from individuals or organizations featured in the articles.
- Entries must adhere to social norms and must not contain elements of violence, politics, pornography, or content that incites ethnic, religious, racial, or intergroup (SARA) conflict.
- All data and facts must include clear references or sources.
- Entries must not have been previously submitted in any other competition.
- Each participant may submit up to three entries. Each submission will be judged independently and has an equal opportunity to win.
Submission Procedure:
- Entries must be sent via email to [email protected] with the subject line: 2025 JOURNALISM COMPETITION
- Attach a PDF clipping of the article, whether published in print or online media.
- Include the following information in the body of the email: full name, media outlet name, article title, publication date, article URL (for online media) or article page number (for print media), and a mobile number reachable via WhatsApp.
- Attach a press ID or an official letter from the editorial board.
- Attach a copy of your National Identity Card (KTP).
- Entries must be received no later than 30 October 2025 at 11:59 PM (WIB).
Additional Notes:
- Winners will be announced via the official website of PT Agincourt Resources, and also via email and WhatsApp.
- Submissions that do not meet the criteria will not be considered for judging.
- The jury’s decision is final and cannot be contested.
- If any form of misconduct is discovered, the committee reserves the right to disqualify the participant and the entry.
