Apr 23, 2025

Batang Toru, April 23, 2025 – PT Agincourt Resources, the operator of Martabe Gold Mine, held a series of annual PERAN SEPADAN events that took place over the course of one month and concluded on April 23–24, 2025, with a talk show and Focus Group Discussion entitled “Speak Up! is Our Power.”

PERAN SEPADAN (Perayaan KesetARaan – Serentak Berpacu dalam Kesetaraan dan Keberagaman) / (Equality Celebration – Moving in Harmony for Equality and Diversity) initiated as part of efforts to build a fair and equal work culture for all genders, in line with PTAR’s gender diversity initiative that has been consistently implemented for nearly a decade.

Related with Kartini Day, this program serves as a reminder of the importance of having the courage to speak up and maintaining a respectful workplace. Employees are encouraged to actively stand against harassment, bullying, and discrimination in order to create a safe and dignified environment.

Director & CFO of Agincourt Resources, Noviandri, stated that this activity is part of the company’s ongoing diversity and equality strategy.

“We want to foster the courage of every individual to speak up, whether they are the victim, a witness, or when they see company values being violated. Speak Up is not just about reporting but about creating a culture of mutual respect and looking out for one another,” he said.

He stated that the courage to speak up is one of the key foundations in building a healthy and empowering work environment.

“The Speak Up culture is a tangible manifestation of our commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and ethical workplace. We want all employees to feel heard and protected because a sense of safety in the workplace is a fundamental prerequisite for productivity and sustainability,” he said.

The talk show and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) featured Johana Rosalina, Ph.D., a counselor and facilitator from Binus Business School Executive Education, as well as Senior Facilitator & Lead Facilitator of the ASTRA Program. Her experience in communication, leadership, and diversity education was shared with PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR) employees and business partners from various levels of the organization.

In the FGD session, participants actively engaged in group discussions, case studies, and role-playing to identify forms of verbal and non-verbal harassment and strategies for handling them. PTAR also emphasized its commitment to a safe, confidential, and responsive official reporting channel.

Sandra Makadada, Senior Manager of Human Capital Development at Agincourt Resources, mentioned that this activity serves as a reminder that workplace harassment, whether verbal, physical, or psychological, can still occur in subtle forms and is often overlooked.

“Therefore, the ‘Speak Up’ culture is expected to become a collective power in creating a safe and inclusive workplace for all,” she said.

PTAR’s commitment to gender diversity is also reflected in the composition of female employees, which has consistently been above 20%. In 2024, the representation of women reached 23.1% of PTAR’s total employees and business partners. This figure increased from 22.5% in 2023, 21.65% in 2022, and 20.88% in 2021. In 2020, PTAR recorded a female percentage of up to 26%. This percentage far exceeds the 8.3% of women working in the mining and quarrying sector in Indonesia, according to data from the Central Statistics Agency as of August 2024.

Female employees at PTAR contribute to various areas, from mine planning, processing, health and safety (OHS), maintenance, to environmental management. In fact, 19 of them hold managerial positions, including three women currently serving as commissioners and directors.
Various policies such as four-month maternity leave with full pay, two-week paternity leave, lactation rooms, an objective evaluation system, and anti-harassment policies strengthen the company’s efforts in creating an equal work environment.
These efforts align with the 5th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) on Gender Equality, as well as supporting the 8th SDG  (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and the 10th SDG (Reduced Inequalities).
