Agincourt Resources held a vocational teacher competency development training for the Agribusiness of Crops and Fisheries programs through an upskilling and reskilling initiative aligned with Industry and the Business World (IDUKA). The training took place from 16 to 28 June 2025 at the Center for Agricultural Vocational Education Quality Assurance Development (BBPPMPV) in Cianjur, West Java, and was attended by 20 teachers from six vocational high schools (Sekolah MenengahKejuruan or SMK) in South Tapanuli Regency, namely SMKN 1 Marancar, SMKN 1 Tantom Angkola, SMKN Pertanian Pembangunan, SMKN 1 Angkola Timur, SMKN 1 Arse, and SMKN 1 Angkola Sangkunur.

The program was designed to enhance participants’ understanding and skills in managing hydroponic plant cultivation systems, modern aquaculture techniques based on the Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS), as well as project-based learning and Teaching Factory (TEFA) methods. In addition to classroom sessions, the training included industry internships and competency assessments as final stages. This program represents Agincourt Resources’ concrete commitment to advancing vocational education that is both relevant and responsive to evolving industrial demands.

During the training, participants were accompanied by Agincourt Resources’ Supervisor of Education, Laung Lubis. Also in attendance were Diah Norita Melawati, Evaluation Specialist and Chair of the Cooperation and Alignment Task Force of BBPPMPV Agriculture, along with vocational trainers from BBPPMPV who served as facilitators and subject matter experts.
Yeddi Efendi Sipayung, Head of the Regional Office IX of the North Sumatra Education Department, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration between Agincourt Resources and BBPPMPV Agriculture. “This collaboration is expected to enhance the quality of productive teachers and ultimately produce vocational school graduates who are more workforce-ready and competitive. Programs like this must be expanded to strengthen vocational education and better align it with industry needs,” he stated.
