Agincourt Resources continues to demonstrate its commitment to empowering communities surrounding the mining area through the Community Development and Empowerment Program (PPM), including by involving the community in joint monitoring and evaluation processes to ensure that the implemented programs are appropriate and receive input from beneficiaries and relevant stakeholders. A clear example of this commitment was reflected in the Quarterly Meeting of the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Forum (FMB) of the PPM Monitoring Team (PANTAU), held on Thursday, 26 June 2025, at the Batang Toru Community Health Center Hall. The event brought together various stakeholders to share evaluation outcomes and key learnings from the PANTAU team, which comprises members from 12 villages and urban communities across Batang Toru Subdistrict.
The forum was officially opened by the Subdistrict Head of Batang Toru Maratinggi and attended by Head of the Village Community Empowerment Office (PMD) of South Tapanuli Regency M. Yusuf, Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of South Tapanuli Zainal Arifin, a representative from the South Tapanuli Regional Governance Division (TAPEM) Zul Fahmi, as well as the Community Development and Community Relations teams from Agincourt Resources.
In this forum, the villages of Sumuran, Batuhula, and Napa presented the monitoring results of the Community Development and Empowerment Program (PPM) in their respective areas. In addition, several members of the Batangtoru Community Forum (FMB) also shared that they have gained various benefits from the FMB Pantau initiative, particularly deeper insights into Agincourt Resources PPM programs. “I didn’t know what Sukakeswan was before. After joining the team, I learned that Agincourt Resources also runs a program on cattle farming,” said Dina Mariana from the Batuhula PANTAU team.
M. Yusuf, Head of the PMD Office of South Tapanuli Regency, emphasized that collaboration is the cornerstone of effective village development, especially amid decreasing government funding. He encouraged the PANTAU FMB to take on a more strategic role in supporting local economic initiatives such as cooperative development and active participation in village planning processes.
Launched in 2024 in partnership with government agencies, the PANTAU FMB has strengthened transparency in program implementation while serving as an essential platform to raise awareness and build local capacity for inclusive development. Through this initiative, Agincourt Resources reaffirms its belief that sustainable mining can only be achieved when surrounding communities grow and thrive alongside it.
