Efforts to protect the coastal environment were further strengthened through the Handover of the Sea Turtle Conservation Facility and the Release of Turtle Hatchlings, held at West Muara Opu Beach, Muara Batang Toru Sub-district. The activity reflected close collaboration between local communities, regional government, and the private sector in supporting the sustainability of marine ecosystems, particularly the protection of sea turtles as a protected species.

The event was attended by Head of Muara Batang Toru Sub-district, Sonita Wardah Nasution, Manager Community Relations of Agincourt Resources, Masdar Muda, Superintendent Environment Support of Agincourt Resources, Syaiful Anwar, and Chair of the Ovata Indonesia Foundation (LOI), Erwinsyah Siregar.
In his remarks, Chair of LOI, Erwinsyah Siregar, highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration in conserving sea turtles and coastal habitats. The provision of conservation facilities is expected to enhance protection efforts, egg incubation, and hatchling release in a more structured and sustainable manner.
Manager Community Relations of Agincourt Resources, Masdar Muda, stated that the company’s support for the development of the sea turtle conservation facility forms part of its social and environmental responsibility. He emphasised that conservation is not merely ceremonial, but a long-term commitment to maintaining ecological balance for future generations.
Meanwhile, Head of Muara Batang Toru Sub-district, Sonita Wardah Nasution, expressed her appreciation for the support and collaboration that had been established. She hoped the facility would serve as a centre for environmental education and a source of pride for the community in safeguarding the coastal environment. The main agenda was marked by the signing of the handover agreement and the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Muara Opu Sea Turtle Conservation Facility. The programme continued with the release of turtle hatchlings into the sea by the Ovata Indonesia Foundation, symbolising shared hope and commitment to marine ecosystem conservation.

Through this initiative, Agincourt Resources, together with LOI and the Muara Opu community, reaffirmed their long-term commitment to caring for nature, strengthening collaboration, and preserving coastal life for generations to come.
