Ramadan Strengthens, Togetherness Revives: Martabe Gold Mine Safari Ramadan Brings Care and Post-Disaster Recovery Support

Feb 21, 2026

Ramadan serves as a meaningful moment to strengthen bonds while extending genuine care to the community. Through the 2026 Safari Ramadan programme, Agincourt Resources organised a series of social and spiritual initiatives in Batang Toru Subdistrict, including support for disaster survivors in Garoga Village.

The opening event was held on Saturday, 21st February 2026, at the Batuhula Temporary Shelter (Huntara Batuhula). On this occasion, a trauma healing session was conducted as part of psychosocial support for communities affected by the disaster. The programme featured thematic religious talks, spiritual motivation, simple relaxation exercises, emotional management education, dialogue sessions, and collective prayers aimed at restoring morale and optimism among residents.

The opening ceremony was attended by Senior Manager Community & Security, Christine Pepah, village heads, the Chair of MUI Batang Toru, and local community leaders. In his opening remarks for the first Safari Ramadan session held from 21st to 24th February 2026, Manager Community Relations, Masdar Muda, emphasised that Safari Ramadan is not merely an annual agenda, but a reflection of the company’s commitment to continuously support communities in all circumstances. “Ramadan is the best time to strengthen one another. We hope this programme becomes a space for recovery while reinforcing solidarity,” he stated.

In addition to the recovery session, the programme included the distribution of Qur’ans, prayer mats, support for orphans, and a communal iftar in a warm and family-oriented atmosphere.

The 2026 Ramadan Safari was carried out in two phases. In February, the activities took place in Batang Toru Subdistrict, covering Ar-Rusda Mosque in Batu Hula, Al-Rauda Mosque in Batu Hula Village, Al-Iman Mosque in Benteng Hamlet of Hapesong Baru Village, and Babussalam Mosque in Aek Ngadol Village. The programme then continued in March at places of worship in Muara Batang Toru Subdistrict.

The Martabe Gold Mine Ramadan Safari shows that blessings are found not only in worship but also in compassion. Through togetherness and close collaboration, communities can recover, rebuild, and move forward stronger in facing future challenges.
