GENRE Goes to School Strengthens Youth Education at MTsN 3 Ampolu Muara Batang Toru

As part of its commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of the younger generation, Agincourt Resources continues to support the Generasi Berencana (GENRE) Programme through a range of educational initiatives in schools. The programme is implemented under the Company’s Community Development and Empowerment Programme (PPM) in the health sector, with the aim of nurturing healthy, responsible, and forward-thinking young people.

This commitment was demonstrated through the GENRE Goes to School programme held at MTsN 3 Ampolu Muara Batang Toru on 18th June 2026. The event forms part of a series of outreach activities conducted in schools across Batang Toru and Muara Batang Toru sub-districts through a collaboration between the South Tapanuli GENRE Forum, the South Tapanuli Office of Population Control and Family Planning (PPKB), Family Planning Field Officers (PLKB) of Batang Toru Sub-district, and Agincourt Resources.

Through this programme, students gained knowledge on life planning from an early age, reproductive health, and the risks associated with early marriage, free sex, and the misuse of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and other addictive substances (NAPZA). The initiative is expected to help foster a generation that is healthy, knowledgeable, and of strong character.

A total of 112 participants, comprising students, teachers, the school principal, representatives of the South Tapanuli PPKB Office, the South Tapanuli GENRE Forum, and Agincourt Resources, took part in the event. The programme featured interactive presentations, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions to encourage active participation.

Through its Community Development and Empowerment Programme (PPM), Agincourt Resources remains committed to promoting adolescent health while encouraging the development of peer educators who can serve as reliable sources of information and positive role models for their peers in adopting healthy and responsible lifestyles.

Meanwhile, the Principal of MTsN 3 Ampolu Muara Batang Toru, Embin Nasution, expressed appreciation for Agincourt Resources’ consistent support in strengthening youth development through educational programmes. “We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Agincourt Resources for its continuous contribution to the community, particularly to young people through educational initiatives such as the GENRE Goes to School Programme. We hope the GENRE Ambassadors will become role models who inspire their peers to plan their future wisely, avoid risky behaviours such as early marriage, free sex, and drug abuse, and actively promote reproductive health education and awareness of the importance of delaying marriage until the appropriate age,” he said.
