Amid the various challenges faced by the Company, Agincourt Resources’ commitment to education remains unwavering. This year, through the 2026 Martabe Prestasi Scholarship Programme, the Company has allocated IDR 5.29 billion to support 341 secondary school and university students in South Tapanuli, representing a tangible investment in the future of the region’s young generation.
Of this total, 88 are new scholarship recipients, while 253 are continuing beneficiaries. Since its establishment in 2017, the programme has been implemented continuously, demonstrating that education remains a key priority in developing high-quality human resources.
Director Operations of Agincourt Resources, Rahmat Lubis, emphasised that although the scale of the programme has been adjusted, the Company’s commitment to education remains unchanged. In 2026, the scholarship programme is focused on senior secondary school and university students to ensure that its benefits continue to support those preparing for their future.
The Head of the South Tapanuli Regency Education Office, Efrida Yanti Pakpahan, stated that Agincourt Resources’ Community Development and Empowerment Programme (PPM) has delivered tangible benefits to the community, including in the field of education.
“This scholarship provides significant support for students from low-income families, giving them the opportunity to pursue higher education.” She also encouraged students to maintain their enthusiasm for learning and not allow financial circumstances to limit their aspirations.“There are many pathways to achieving one’s dreams, and scholarships are one of them,” she said.
Since its launch, the Martabe Prestasi Scholarship has supported 3,037 students, with a total educational investment of IDR 24.11 billion. Over nearly a decade, the programme has opened opportunities for thousands of young people in South Tapanuli to access better educational prospects.
The programme’s impact continues to deliver encouraging results. This year, 13 scholarship recipients successfully secured places at leading universities across Indonesia, including IPB University, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Airlangga, Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Brawijaya, and Universitas Sebelas Maret.
One of them is Salwa Ermina Siregar, a first-year Chemical Engineering student at Universitas Gadjah Mada. Coming from a low-income family, Salwa described the scholarship as invaluable support in helping her pursue higher education and realise her aspirations.
“I feel extremely fortunate to receive the Martabe Prestasi Scholarship, especially given my family’s limited financial circumstances. I will make the best possible use of this scholarship to support my studies and motivate me to continue achieving academic excellence,” said Salwa.
Over the past ten years, the Martabe Prestasi Scholarship has been more than just financial assistance for education. The programme has created opportunities, nurtured hope, and empowered a generation of young people who are ready to contribute to the development of South Tapanuli and Indonesia.
