Preparing young people for the future requires structured and continuous guidance. Since 2024, Agincourt Resources has supported government efforts to foster youth development through the Program Generasi Berencana (GenRe), as well as strengthening and building the capacity of Pusat Informasi dan Konseling Remaja (PIK-R).
As part of efforts to ensure the programmes remain effective and deliver meaningful benefits, an evaluation of the GenRe and PIK-R programmes in schools across Batang Toru and Muara Batang Toru was held at Puskesmas Batang Toru on 28 August 2026. The activity provided a forum to review programme achievements, assess implementation effectiveness, identify areas for improvement and develop plans for the programmes’ next phase.
A total of 33 participants attended the activity, comprising seven school principals, nine supervising teachers, eight members of the South Tapanuli GenRe Forum, five Penyuluh Lapangan Keluarga Berencana (PLKB) and four representatives of Agincourt Resources.
The evaluation began with a presentation by Agincourt Resources on programme achievements, followed by presentations from each school on activities that had and had not yet been implemented. Participants also took part in an overall programme evaluation, a question-and-answer session and discussions on the 2026/2027 work plan.
In his remarks, Superintendent Community Services Yayan Nuryawan emphasised the importance of evaluation in measuring achievements, identifying gaps and improving subsequent steps to ensure the programme’s objectives are achieved effectively. Evaluation is also part of efforts to ensure that established PIK-R units are not merely active administratively, but also fulfil their role in supporting youth development.
Echoing this, PLKB Coordinator Anugerah Dian S. expressed hope that the evaluation would encourage continuous improvement and help ensure the programme’s objectives are achieved effectively.
Through ongoing evaluation and collaboration with stakeholders, the GenRe and PIK-R programmes are expected to continue developing as platforms for youth development, supporting young people in preparing for the future and making more informed plans for family life.
