GRADUATE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM – MINING (GDP-MIN01)

This position will be based at the Martabe Site within the Mining Department and will report directly to the Engineer – Drill & Blast.

The role of the Graduate Development Program – Mining is to assist and support the Engineer – Drill & Blast in providing effective engineering control for drilling and blasting activities, as well as overseeing the supervision of the drilling and blasting contractor. The candidate will be responsible for developing drill and blast designs with the goal of ensuring statutory compliance and achieving blast results that optimize project costs. In addition, the role involves supporting drilling and blasting activities, along with OrePro3D modeling, particularly for the full implementation of OrePro3D across all ore and waste material operations.

Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (master’s degree preferred).
  2. Indonesian citizen aged 18–25 for bachelor’s degree holders or 24–28 for Master’s/Postgraduate Degree holders at the time of enrolment.
  3. A minimum GPA of 3.0.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of drill and blast engineering and hard rock mining operations.
  5. Strong proficiency in Surpac, tie-up/in software, OrePro 3D, Split Desktop, Blast ware, or other equivalent drill and blast software packages.
  6. Active participation in academic or non-academic organizations.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  8. English proficiency, supported by relevant documentation (e.g., TOEFL score of 400 or IELTS score of 4.0).
  9. Full-time commitment to the program, including signing the Development Agreement Letter and being willing to work on a roster schedule at the site.
  10. Motivation, creativity, strong communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a team.
  11. Passion for learning new skills and openness to challenges.
  12. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate ideas.
  13. Strong understanding and ability to explain basic mining operations, including Load & Haul (L&H), Drill and Blast, Mine Planning, and mine equipment capabilities.
  14. A high level of commitment to PTAR’s standards in environmental protection, safety, business ethics, and good corporate governance.
