Ensuring Transparency Through Continuous Monitoring of Wastewater Quality

To maintain environmental quality and providing accurate information to the public, Agincourt Resources once again conducted a routine monitoring of the quality of processed water discharged into the Batang Toru River. This activity took place on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, as part of the Company’s commitment to responsible mining operations. 

As a demonstration of high transparency, this activity was also directly witnessed by the Secretary of the Integrated Team for Monitoring Processed Water Quality, who is also the Head of the South Tapanuli Environmental Agency, Ongku Muda Atas Sormin, accompanied by the Head of the South Tapanuli Fisheries Agency, Saiful AP Nasution.

The Integrated Team, composed of representatives from villages around the Martabe Gold Mine, along with representatives from various departments at Agincourt Resources such as Environment, Community Relations, Corporate Communications, and Government Relations, directly collected water samples at four points along the Batang Toru River. These samples will then be sent to the independent laboratory PT Intertek Utama Service in Jakarta for comprehensive testing. 

In his remarks, Ongku Muda Atas Sormin emphasized the important role of the Integrated Team in maintaining environmental quality. “With the signing of the Decree (SK) of the Integrated Team for the 2024-2028 period, I hope all team members can work to their full potential and uphold the values of local wisdom,” he said.

The periodic monitoring of processed water quality is one form of Agincourt Resources’ commitment to ensuring that mining operations do not have a negative impact on the environment and surrounding communities. The laboratory test results will be announced publicly so that the public can directly know the quality of the Batang Toru River water.
