This position will be based at the Martabe Site within the Processing (Maintenance) Department and will report directly to the Supervisor – Technical Development.
The Mechanical Trainer is responsible for overseeing the training process to ensure that trainees are thoroughly trained in current mining practices and procedures. This role involves planning, developing, coordinating, and documenting all operational and/or quality training, including both technical training and on-the-job (OTJ) training for designated work groups within PTAR. The Mechanical Trainer will report directly to the Technical Development Supervisor.
The ideal candidate must possess extensive knowledge of various instructional techniques and formats, with the ability to clearly and engagingly explain complex materials. Collaboration with Technical Development management is essential to ensure the timely and effective completion of all required training.
This role demands a high degree of integrity, honesty, and the ability to communicate effectively with work teams, other departments, and company management. Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing technical development programs and other maintenance programs as required across all departments.
- Committing to and serving as an integral part of the local Development Plan, as directed by the Technical Development Superintendent & Maintenance Manager.
- Ensuring adherence to the Development Plan and other relevant programs, including the development and documentation of procedures and protocols.
- Providing support to the management team as necessary.
Candidates for this position are expected to meet the following qualifications and criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably a Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Certification in Mechanical Trade (Fitting).
- Training of Trainer (TOT) certification.
- First Operational Supervisor (POP) certification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the mining industry as a Mechanical Trainer or Mechanical Trainer for Fixed Plant.
- Experience in learning and development programs, particularly for apprenticeship training.
- Understanding of the regulations, requirements, and guidelines set by the Indonesian Government for apprenticeship programs.
- Strong initiative and motivation in fulfilling responsibilities.
- Proficient in program development.
- Ability to meet agreed-upon deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Indonesian.
- Knowledge of training process methodology.
- Ability to plan, schedule, and implement training programs in accordance with the curriculum.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build good relationships with colleagues and external partners, while fostering a learning culture within the organization.
