A New Hope from New Classrooms

As part of our commitment to support the educational sector, Agincourt Resources has provided assistance for the construction and renovation of classrooms at five schools across four districts: SMP Negeri 2 Batang Toru, SDN No. 100301 Pargarutan in Angkola Timur, SDN No. 101303 Batu Godang in Angkola Sangkunur, SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat, and MTs Swasta Mardhatillah in Angkola Barat. With a total investment of IDR 1.45 billion, this initiative aims to create a better and more suitable learning environment for students. 

Rahmat Lubis, General Manager of Operations and Deputy Director of Operations at Agincourt Resources, emphasized that this assistance is part of the company’s commitment to supporting education in its operational areas. “We believe that investing in education is a long-term investment for regional development. We hope that these new classrooms will serve as a birthplace for an outstanding generation, ready to build the future,” he stated.

The handover of the classroom construction and renovation assistance was also attended by the Head of the Tapanuli Selatan Education Office, Arman Pasaribu, as well as representatives from the North Sumatra Regional Education Branch Office XI and the South Tapanuli Ministry of Religious Affairs Office. 

The Chairman of the PPS Mardhatillah Foundation, Pilhanuddin, Lc., expressed gratitude for Agincourt Resources’ support in constructing two classrooms complete with furniture. “Currently, we have approximately 700 students from various regions. Education is a bridge to reduce inequality and poverty. With these new classrooms, we are even more motivated to improve the quality of education,” he said.

Throughout 2024, Agincourt Resources has allocated IDR 3.68 billion to build and renovate classrooms, as well as to provide computers and supporting equipment for 16 schools in South Tapanuli.  In addition to educational infrastructure development, Agincourt Resources also runs various other programs in the field of education, such as the Martabe Achievement Scholarships, Focused Learning, the development of excellence classes at junior and senior high school levels, partnerships for the development of three vocational high schools, and teacher capacity building and empowerment programs. All of these initiatives are part of Agincourt Resources’ efforts to make a real contribution to the advancement of education in South Tapanuli.
