A total of 715 students and teachers from primary to secondary school levels gathered at Sopo Daganak, Napa Village, Batang Toru Subdistrict, on Thursday, September 4 2025, for the Martabe Science Olympiad 2025 Awarding Ceremony. The Olympiad itself previously involved 4,939 participants, consisting of students and teachers from South Tapanuli Regency, Padangsidimpuan City, Sibolga City, and Central Tapanuli Regency.
Awards were presented to gold, silver, and bronze medallists across 32 subjects. The winners included 120 primary school students, 120 junior secondary school students, 300 senior secondary school students, and 175 accompanying teachers. The presence of Rahmat Lubis, General Manager & Deputy Director of Operations at Agincourt Resources, and Fahrurozi, CEO of the Indonesian Science Olympiad Centre (POSI), further reinforced the significance of this event.
In his remarks, Rahmat Lubis emphasised that the Martabe Science Olympiad 2025 is part of the company’s commitment to supporting the Community Development and Empowerment Programme (PPM). Echoing this, Mara Tinggi Siregar, Head of Batang Toru Subdistrict who represented the Regent of South Tapanuli and officially opened the event, expressed appreciation to Agincourt Resources for supporting government programmes in education, health, and the economy. Meanwhile, Fahrurozi highlighted the importance of companies in preparing a resilient younger generation not merely by “giving fish”, but by “providing a fishing rod” enabling communities to thrive independently.
The Martabe Science Olympiad 2025 was not only an occasion to honour the winners, but also a symbol of collaboration between business, government, and society in nurturing an excellent generation. With knowledge as the foundation, it is hoped that new talents will emerge, ready to face the challenges of the future.
