Agincourt Resources has strengthened its commitment to environmental sustainability and community empowerment through the opening Lubuk Larangan Area in Hapesong Lama. This programme not only preserves the natural environment but also supports village income and the management committee, which is run directly by the local community.

The event was held on 5th October 2025 and attended by 100 fishing participants from various regions, including Padang Sidempuan City, Batang Toru District, and Central Tapanuli Regency, with each participant catching approximately 3–4 kilograms of fish. Although the catches were not always abundant, the enthusiasm of the fishing community was very high, demonstrating that the activity is not merely about fishing but also serves to strengthen togetherness, enjoy nature, and foster new hope for the community.
According to Jumiran, a resident of Hapesong Lama, the establishment of the Lubuk Larangan has brought many positive changes to the community: “With the existence of this Lubuk Larangan, people have become more aware and committed to protecting the river. We realise that when the river is well preserved, the fish population thrives. Especially since collaborating with Agincourt Resources in 2024, we have experienced many benefits. Agincourt Resources provided thousands of fish seeds, including jurung, emas, and nila. Now our river is more alive, and the residents have become more united in maintaining its ecosystem. The harvest from the Lubuk Larangan is also used to buy more fish seeds, as well as to support orphans and contribute to the mosque. I hope this Lubuk Larangan will continue to develop and receive ongoing support so its benefits for the community can grow even greater,” he said.
This programme stands as a tangible demonstration of Agincourt Resources’ commitment to responsible natural resource management while simultaneously empowering local communities, delivering sustainable social, economic, and environmental benefits.
