Igniting Spirit, Strengthening Capacity Closing Ceremony of the Upskilling and Reskilling Training on Renewable Energy for Vocational School Teachers

How can we ensure that the outcomes of training are truly implemented in schools? This question became the main reflection during the Closing Ceremony of the Diklat Upskilling dan Reskilling Energi Baru Terbarukan (EBT) bagi Guru SMK Berbasis Industri se-Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan, held on 24th October 2025.

This training improved the understanding of 30 teachers from ten vocational schools across South Tapanuli Regency regarding various types of renewable energy, the potential of renewable energy in Indonesia, and best practices in managing and integrating renewable energy materials into the school curriculum.

In attendance at the event were Senior Manager Community of Agincourt Resources, Christine Pepah, Manager Community Development, Rohani Simbolon, Superintendent Community Services, Yayan Nuryawan, Head of BBPPMPV BBL Medan, Drs. Rasoki Lubis, M.Pd, Head of Vocational Education Division of the North Sumatra Education Office, Dr. Suhendri, M.A, and Head of the Regional Education Office (Cabdis) Region XI of North Sumatra, Dr. Tetti Mahrani Pulungan, S.Pd., M.Pd., along with ten vocational school principals.

In her remarks, Christine Pepah emphasised that renewable energy is not merely an energy issue, but part of an educational transformation that prepares young generations to face a greener and more sustainable future.

Dr. Tetti Mahrani Pulungan added that implementing the outcomes of this training in schools is a strategic step to build a learning culture that is adaptive to the growing clean energy industry.

Superintendent of Project & Energy Development, Wahyu Adi Bianto, presented the industrial-scale renewable energy system based on solar panels implemented at Agincourt Resources. There are two types of solar panels installed:

  1. On-grid, with a total capacity of 2,202 kWp, operated on the rooftop buildings and floating solar cell panels.
  2. Off-grid, with a capacity of 45 kWp, operated at the Research Station and serving as a supporting system for the water treatment project.
