Creativity is a bridge that connects culture, generations, and aspirations. Through art, we do not merely preserve local identity but also provide space for children and young people to grow, express themselves, and build confidence. This spirit filled the Sopo Daganak Arts Festival (SANIPODA) 2025, held on Wednesday, 12th November 2025, at the Sopo Daganak.
This year’s festival brought together 55 participants, with 15 finalists performing on the main stage. Manager Community Development, Rohani Simbolon, emphasised that nurturing the arts is not only about discovering talent, but also about instilling confidence, discipline, and a deep appreciation for local culture.
“We want this festival to be a platform where young people can express themselves, dare to create, and cultivate pride
in the cultural heritage of the archipelago across generations,” she said.

The lively event featured participants from various schools and arts studios across South Tapanuli and Sibolga, competing in three categories: General Dance, Children’s Dance, and Solo Vocal, complemented by special awards for Best Supporters and Best Costume. Representatives from sponsors such as PT DNX Indonesia, PT Indodrill, PT GDSK, BRI Unit Batang Toru, and PTPN III Kebun Batang Toru were also present to witness the celebration.
The festival served not only as a stage for artistic expression, but also as a platform for character-building, creativity, and self-confidence aligned with Agincourt Resources’ commitment to fostering active, empowered communities that appreciate and preserve cultural heritage.
