This position will be based at the Martabe Gold Mine Site within the Mining and will report directly to the Senior Engineer – Short Term Mine Planning.
The role of the Engineer – Short Term Mine Planning will be:
- Prepare daily and weekly mine plans aligned with production targets, equipment availability, and ore quality requirements.
- Design pit sequences, dump designs, and stockpile plans aligned with short-term mine planning as well as mid- and long-term mine planning strategies.
- Coordinate and communicate mine plans effectively with relevant departments, including Mine Operations, Survey, Geotechnical & Hydrogeology, Mine Geology, Processing, Mine Projects, and contractors.
- Monitor actual performance against mine plans and provide variance analysis, operational recommendations, and improvement actions.
- Support operational teams in addressing daily mining challenges and adjusting plans as required.
- Ensure compliance with pit design parameters and geotechnical constraints.
- Compare planned versus actual production performance, including tonnage, grade, and mining location, to identify deviations and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and provide daily and weekly mine planning reports for operational monitoring and management review.
- Ensure all short-term mine planning activities comply with safety, geotechnical, environmental standards, and Good Mining Practice principles, including compliance with Kepmen 1827.K/30/MEM/2018.
Candidates for this position are expected to meet the following qualifications and criteria:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in in Mining Engineering discipline with an emphasis on computer skills.
- Have POP Certificate.
- Minimum have 2 years and preferably 5 years of experience in mining operations and planning, preferably at hard rock mining industry.
- Have knowledge and practical experience of related mining software, preferably Surpac and minesched.
- Have a well and rounded knowledge of mining operations preferably open pit hard rock mines, familiarity with earth work and load & haul method, drilling/blasting and projects works will be an advantage.
- Have experience on the best practice surface mining operations
- Have experience working as Production Engineering at mining contractor/contractor supervision.
- Have ability to clearly and effectively communicate ideas.
- Have competencies in speaking, reading and writing English.
- Have reasonable level of problem-solving, hands-on approach, able to motivate and lead a team.
- High level of computer literacy skills Ms. Word, Excel, Power Point.
- High Commitment to PTAR standards in environment, safety, business ethic and good corporate governance.
- Have experience on performance Monitoring & Review and Business improvement Process is preferred.
