This position will be based at the Martabe Site in the Geotechnical & Survey Department and report directly to Superintendent – Geotechnical & Hydrogeology.
The Senior Engineer – Geotechnical is to carry out and supervise day-to-day geotechnical activities to support Martabe Open Cut Mine Operations, including pit walls/waste dumps/main infrastructures slope performance assessment, pit walls/waste dumps/main infrastructures instrumentation monitoring evaluation and reporting, pit walls/waste dumps/main infrastructures slope hazard assessment, risk assessments, maintaining communication protocols with Mine Operations personnel, carrying out technical stability assessments and associated reporting, recommending remedial slope designs and assessing their implementation, updating and developing relevant procedural controls (under direction &/ guidance by Superintendent Geotechnical & Hydrogeology and Manager Geotechnical & survey.
Dimension:
Technical issue will be under direction from Superintendent Geotechnical & Hydrogeology. Work closely with Agincourt Resources & Contractors (JV) Personnel – Mining Operation, Drill & Blast, Mine Planning, Surveyors to supervise Slope Monitoring Personnel to support day-to-day geotechnical observation & monitoring fir operational safety, perform data acquisition analysis and reporting for ground engineering activities.
Candidates for this role should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Mine Engineering, Civil Engineering. Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering would be preferably.
- Minimum eight (8) years’ experience of related geotechnical engineering and hydrogeology aspects of open pit experience.
- Proficient in English skills both written and spoken
- Must have advanced knowledge of technical software packages regularly used in geotechnical engineering (e.g. Rocscience, Geostudio, gINT, MODFLOW etc.)
- Capable to operate Surpac, AutoCAD, MapInfo
- Hold a POP & POM certification from Indonesia Mines Department.
- Experience in field geotechnical observation, investigation, mapping, logging, geotechnical hazards assessment in Hard Rock Open Cut Mining Minimum Eight (8) years’ experience of related geotechnical engineering and hydrogeology aspects of open pit experience
