This position will be based at the Martabe Gold Mine Site within the MPDE Department, with direct reporting to the Superintendent – Project Electrical.
The role of the Engineer – Project Electrical & Instrumentation is to:
- Assist the safe and timely execution of approved capital and operational projects to achieve planned project benefits for the Company
- Support the planning, detailed design, procurement, and implementation of electrical instrumentation, and control systems for site projects.
- Provide technical support during installation, testing and commissioning of HV/LV power systems & control systems, PLC/PCS, UPS, generators, MCCs, switchgear, and instrumentation devices.
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and vendors to resolve technical issues and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Assist in preparing project schedules, cost tracking, progress reports, and work packages.
- Support final handover to Operations & Maintenance, including documentation, as-built drawings, and training where required.
- Ensure all workers comply with relevant electrical standards, regulations, quality standards and safety management systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, method statements and QA/QC documentation such as ITPs, checklists, inspection records, test reports, and as-built packages.
Applicants for this position are required to fulfill the following qualifications and criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognised University.
- Valid professional certification/engineering license is an advantage. (minimum requirement Certified Electrical Safety Expert – AK3 Listrik).
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in electrical & Instrumentation project engineering (Mining Processing Plants preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems, control systems (sensors, transmitters, PLC, SCADA, DCS), MCCs, switchgear, transformers, UPS, and generators.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (SLD, loop diagrams, P&ID, GA, wiring diagrams).
- Experience with installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of E&I systems.
- Familiarity with project management processes, including scope, schedule, cost, and risk control.
- Computer literate with MS Excel, MS Project, AutoCAD, Scheduling packages, Pronto
- Understanding of electrical standards, regulations, and codes (AS/NZS, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, etc.).
- Experience preparing and managing QA/QC documentation for E&I works.
- Experience managing contractors and supervising site work activities.
