This position will be based at the Martabe Gold Mine Site within the Processing (Metallurgy) Department and will report directly to the Superintendent – Metallurgy Operations.
The Senior Metallurgist will be responsible for:
- Monitoring, analysing, and reporting plant performance to ensure operational efficiency and optimal process reliability.
- Identifying process improvement opportunities and providing technical recommendations to support continuous optimisation initiatives
- Delivering technical and operational guidance to improve metallurgical performance and operational effectiveness.Supervising plant metallurgists and overseeing laboratory test work to ensure accurate, reliable, and effective metallurgical evaluation processes.
- Supporting safe work practices and ensuring compliance with operational and environmental standards.
Applicants must possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven operational experience in Carbon in Leach (CIL) and Semi-Autogenous Grinding (SAG) milling processes.
- Minimum five years of professional experience in metallurgical roles within gold processing operations.
- Possession of a valid driver’s licence; Personal Occupational Proficiency (POP) certification will be considered an advantage.
- Strong technical understanding of metallurgical processes, processing technologies, tools, equipment, and raw materials.
- Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety hazards associated with mineral processing operations.
- Ability to interpret and effectively execute written and verbal instructions, including engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong adaptability, teamwork capability, and commitment to continuous professional development.
