This position is based at the Martabe Site within the TSF Operations Department and reports directly to the Superintendent – TSF Engineering.
The Senior Engineer – TSF is responsible for ensuring that the TSF, South Dump, and ATF 1 are constructed in full compliance with approved design specifications and QA/QC standards. This role also oversees the development, analysis, and reporting of TSF Instrumentation Monitoring, as well as the implementation of effective controls for Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) management.
This role demands close collaboration with the consulting engineer to ensure QA testing aligns with defined objectives and construction standards, supported by consistent communication on progress and any instances of non-compliance. The Senior Engineer is also accountable for developing construction plans on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis, and for preparing the technical reports required by both internal and external stakeholders.
Candidates applying for this position are expected to meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, preferably with a concentration in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years in geotechnical engineering within the mining industry or civil works.
- Proven experience in dam construction, particularly in construction planning for mining operations, is highly desirable.
- Possession of a valid POP/POM certificate.
- Strong foundation in soil mechanics and hands-on experience with soil laboratory testing.
- Proficiency in geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring methods.
- Computer literacy, with demonstrated proficiency in Plaxis, Slide, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet applications, and design software such as AutoCAD or Surpac.
- Strong ability in monitoring, evaluation, and technical report preparation.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and optimize time management.
