This position will be based at the Martabe Site within the Facility & Services Department and will report directly to the Supervisor – Camp Electrical.

The role of the Leading Hand – Electrical & Instrumentation is to provide direct, hands-on support to the Camp Electrical Supervisors, ensuring that the maintenance, modifications, servicing, and installation activities conducted by the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) maintenance team are executed professionally, safely, and efficiently. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of safety, timeliness, cost efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, the Leading Hand must prioritize the needs of the Facilities and Services, considering the operational requirements of the associated electrical and instrumentation plant, equipment, and apparatus in the infrastructure being attended to.

Close collaboration with the F&S Maintenance, Camp Services teams, as well as Maintenance Planning and Warehouse personnel, will be essential to the overall success of this role.

Candidates for this position are expected to meet the following qualifications and criteria:

  1. Graduate from a Polytechnic/Technical Training Institute or completion of an approved Apprenticeship with a focus on Electrical qualifications.
  2. Proven experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspection processes.
  3. Hands-on experience with electrical and instrumentation installation methods and best practices.
  4. Strong understanding of world-class mining standards and relevant safety regulations (ANZS, BS, IEC, ASTM).
  5. Basic knowledge of Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
  6. Solid understanding of occupational hazards specific to the mineral processing industry.
  7. Ability to comprehend and effectively execute both written and verbal instructions.
  8. Skilled in interpreting electrical schematics and single-line diagrams.
  9. Proficient in preparing detailed reports and maintaining accurate records.
  10. Ability to demonstrate and enforce safe working procedures to team members.
  11. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet usage.
  12. Capable of working independently in a safe, professional, and efficient manner, while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  13. Consistently demonstrates meticulous attention to standards and details.
  14. Highly motivated and proactive with a positive, can-do attitude.
