SENIOR METALLURGIST (MET 2404018)

This position will be based at the Martabe Site within the Processing (Metallurgy) Department and will report directly to the Superintendent – Metallurgy Operation.

The Senior Metallurgist will be tasked with:

  • Monitoring and reporting on all aspects of plant performance.
  • Providing technical and operational input as directed to optimize process efficiency.
  • Supervising plant metallurgists and overseeing laboratory test works.

Applicants for this position are expected to possess the following qualifications and meet specific criteria:

  1. Hold tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, or Chemical Engineering.
  2. Have experience in CIL (Carbon in Leach) and SAG (Semi-Autogenous Grinding) milling.
  3. Accumulate a minimum of 5 years of experience in a production metallurgical role within the resource sector.
  4. Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in CIL/CIP (Carbon in Pulp) gold processing.
  5. Hold a valid driver’s license and be POP (Personal Occupational Proficiency) certified, if possible.
  6. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of methods, tools, raw materials, and technologies utilized in metallurgical processing.
  7. Exhibit thorough knowledge of occupational hazards within the mineral processing industry.
  8. Display the ability to comprehend and efficiently execute written and oral instructions, including the interpretation of engineering drawings.
  9. Showcase adaptability to the work culture and a commitment to self-development.
