This position will be based at the Martabe Site within the Processing (Metallurgy) Department and will report directly to the Superintendent – Metallurgy Operation.
The Senior Metallurgist will be tasked with:
- Monitoring and reporting on all aspects of plant performance.
- Providing technical and operational input as directed to optimize process efficiency.
- Supervising plant metallurgists and overseeing laboratory test works.
Applicants for this position are expected to possess the following qualifications and meet specific criteria:
- Hold tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, or Chemical Engineering.
- Have experience in CIL (Carbon in Leach) and SAG (Semi-Autogenous Grinding) milling.
- Accumulate a minimum of 5 years of experience in a production metallurgical role within the resource sector.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in CIL/CIP (Carbon in Pulp) gold processing.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and be POP (Personal Occupational Proficiency) certified, if possible.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of methods, tools, raw materials, and technologies utilized in metallurgical processing.
- Exhibit thorough knowledge of occupational hazards within the mineral processing industry.
- Display the ability to comprehend and efficiently execute written and oral instructions, including the interpretation of engineering drawings.
