SENIOR SUPERVISOR – SME DEVELOPMENT (CD 2406030)

This position will be based at the Martabe Site within the Community Development Department and will report directly to the Superintendent of Local Economic Development.

The Senior Supervisor of SME Development will be responsible for identifying, developing, and pursuing business opportunities with local contractors and the community. This role involves coordinating and negotiating with other departments to implement marketing and business initiatives. The Senior Supervisor will oversee a small team and local contractors throughout the development process and procedures. Additionally, this role is accountable for the successful execution of business development projects, including increasing production, value addition, marketing, and institutional strengthening, to ensure sustainable income generation for targeted beneficiaries. Internally, the Senior Supervisor will manage the team in conducting business analyses of SMEs and local contractors as part of PTAR’s Community Development and Empowerment Programs, while also maintaining positive relationships with relevant stakeholders.

Candidates for this position are expected to meet the following qualifications and criteria:

  1. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant social science field.
  2. Possession of a driver’s license; categories C and A are desirable.
  3. At least 5 years of experience in CSR or Community Development, with a focus on Business Development, particularly in areas related to local economic development, finance, or marketing within a multinational mining company or NGO.
  4. Demonstrated communication and reporting skills using standard computer programs.
  5. Advanced knowledge in Feasibility Studies and Project Management.
  6. Proficiency in facilitating community development management processes, including planning, organizing, supervising, monitoring, and evaluating programs.
  7. Strong interpersonal and public communication skills.
  8. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  9. Ability to multitask under pressure, meet tight deadlines, deliver quality results, and effectively lead and work with a team.
  10. Adequate analytical and problem-solving skills.
  11. Experience in evaluating financial reports of program activities.
  12. Knowledge of regulations and procedures related to economic development, and proficiency in statistics and mathematics applicable to economic analysis.
