Sep 4, 2023

To sustain our biodiversity and river conservation efforts, PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR) has once again deployed thousands of Jurung fish seeds into the depths of Lubuk Larangan, specifically within two villages: Aek Ngadol Village in Sitinjak and Sumuran Village. Beyond this, the release of these Jurung fish seeds serves the dual purpose of safeguarding the Lubuk Larangan tradition and promoting the reproduction of fish species unique to South Tapanuli.

PTAR’s Senior Manager Community, Christine Pepah, elaborated on the release of Jurung fish seeds in Aek Ngadol Village, Sitinjak. This event took place on Monday, September 4, 2023, in collaboration with the village administration and the local committee, with a total of 7,000 fish seeds being released. Furthermore, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, 7,000 Jurung fish seeds and 200 kilograms of goldfish seeds were introduced separately. Pepah stressed that PTAR remains committed to expanding the existing Lubuk Larangan zone to encompass several additional villages. This endeavor not only aims to preserve culture and biodiversity but also aspires for Lubuk Larangan to generate income for development and village social funds.
