Head of the South Tapanuli Education Service, Arman Pasaribu, stated that learning mathematics is still a challenge for many students, and as a result, some are reluctant to study and dislike the subject. However, with the GASING method, it is hoped that students can learn mathematics in a more enjoyable and engaging manner. GASING is a mathematics learning method developed by Prof. Yohanes Surya, Ph.D., to enhance numeracy skills, higher-order thinking abilities, communication skills, and collaborative attitudes. The South Tapanuli Regency Government aims to provide GASING method training to all fourth and fifth-grade elementary school classes this year. Additionally, this training is also intended to prepare students for participation in the National Science Olympiad (OSN).
