Batangtoru, 27 November 2023 – PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR), the operator of Martabe Gold Mine, successfully won first place at the prestigious event of the 2023 ASEAN Mineral Awards (AMA) for Mineral Processing category, outperforming other mining companies in Southeast Asia. The award was received by PTAR Deputy General Manager Operations, Wira Dharma Putra at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel and Residence, Cambodia, Thursday (23/11).
“We are very happy and proud of winning first place in Mineral Processing category at the 2023 ASEAN Mineral Awards,” said Wira. “This achievement confirms our commitment to operational excellence, environmental responsibility, and high-standard mining practices continuously supported by the Indonesian Government, in this respect, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.”
ASEAN Mineral Awards is a prestigious award to appreciate the mining and mineral processing companies which contribute to the innovations of sustainable mineral development in Southeast Asia. This conferment was part of The Ninth ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Minerals (The 9th AMMin) and Associated Meetings/Events opened by the Secretary General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn.
The aspects of assessment in this award are the contributions of companies to community development, innovations, implications for ASEAN mineral supplies, human resources development, productivity, and resource efficiency as well as real performances in health, safety, and environment.
“This award is the result of our consistent efforts in implementing best mining and mineral processing practices, ensuring efficient gold extraction and production and minimizing environmental impacts through the innovations that we create,” continued Wira.
According to Wira, PTAR is fully committed to implementing sustainable mining practices and building positive relations with local community. The success of the company in processing mineral does not only prove its technical expertise, but also its dedication to social responsibilities, sustainable environment and operation.
Previously, PTAR also received an international award at the 2023 Asia Sustainability Reporting Rating (ASRRAT) event. PTAR received Gold Rank at the award night held at Raffles Hotel Jakarta, Monday (6/11).
ASRRAT award has been held by National Center for Corporate Reporting (NCCR) since 2005 as an initiative to rank the corporate sustainability reports in Asia. 68 companies in Indonesia and Asia Pacific participated in ASRRAT this year, namely the Philippines, Bangladesh, Russia, and Australia. The ranking process of the 2023 ASRRAT involved a panel consisting or five judges and an assessor team comprising 18 certified assessors of CSRS (Certified Sustainability Reporting Specialist).

According to PTAR President Director, Muliady Sutio, this award reflected PTAR’s commitment to implementing transparent reporting standard.
“One of the values of our company is transparency, meaning that we uphold openness. We consistently convey company-related information to all stakeholders. Company-related information such as annual reports can also be accessed by the public on our website,” he explained.
The Chairman of NCCR, Ali Darwin appreciated all participants of the 2023 ASRRAT. According to him, all participating companies have high dedication to transparency and accountability. Moreover, ASRRAT participants also have very inspiring initiatives to assess and mitigate the risks of environmental and social impacts.
“Sustainability reports have given valuable knowledge of the progress in reducing emissions, conserving resources, and advancing social justice. This also serves as a roadmap for other businesses and organisations to follow,” he said.
Furthermore, PTAR also recently participated in supporting the Government of South Tapanuli Regency in achieving MURI (Indonesian Record Museum) record for the category of most PAUD (Early Childhood Education) student book donations. In this record, PTAR was involved as the main sponsor of the program.
