In the mining industry, ESG plays a crucial role, and without its serious implementation, mining investments may encounter obstacles. The commitment of companies to implement ESG is directly reflected in their financial performance. Zuzy Anna underscored the inevitability of ESG requirements, particularly in the global market. Investors prefer companies that adhere to ESG criteria. Unfortunately, the implementation of ESG in Indonesian companies remains limited, as government regulations are still voluntary.

However, Agincourt Resources stands apart. Mahmud Subagya affirmed that the company has implemented ESG in line with good mining practices and government regulations. The company has set six aspirations with a focus on the 2030 target, including a 30% reduction in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 2030, achieving 50% Renewable Energy (RE) in the Astra Group’s energy mix, effective water and factory waste management, fostering diversity and inclusivity, and prioritizing the health and safety of employees.
