Universities and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) Visited and Directly Acquired Operational Knowledge of Martabe Gold Mine

Various universities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) visited the Martabe Gold Mine site to witness firsthand and gain knowledge about sustainable operations. Some of these universities and NGOs include UIN Syahada Padangsidimpuan on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, Bengkel Sampah on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, Tabagsel Lestari on Thursday, February 28, 2024, and Graha Nusantara University (UGN) on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. 

The visit from UIN Syahada Padangsidimpuan was represented by 19 individuals who were faculty members and students of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. Bengkel Sampah, an NGO focusing on waste management, brought 19 individuals, Tabagsel Lestari brought 18 individuals, and UGN brought 25 individuals, consisting of faculty members and Master’s students.  All visits began with a presentation of the Company’s profile followed by a welcoming speech from General Manager Operations, Rahmat Lubis. It was stated that the Company has Core Values, one of which is Transparency. The Company’s openness regarding the operational aspects of the Martabe Gold Mine, especially to the community, is expected to provide further understanding of the commitment to sustainability.
