Batang Toru District has successfully proven its superiority by winning the Grand Champion title at the South Tapanuli Regency Level Nasyid Festival. The event, initiated by Agincourt Resources in collaboration with the South Tapanuli Regency Government under the People’s Welfare Section (KESRA), was held merrilly for three days, starting from July 30 to August 1, 2024, at Sopo Daganak, Kampung Napa Village.
This Nasyid Festival has been an annual event since 2015 at the district level of Batang Toru and Muara Batang Toru. In 2023, the scale of this event was increased to the regency level, involving 11 districts, 19 groups, and 209 participants.
The peak of the event was held on August 1, 2024, with the presentation of prizes and financial incentives to the winners. The total prize provided by the committee reached Rp56 million, along with a rotating trophy as a symbol of the highest award.
Agincourt Resources Senior Manager Community, Christine Pepah, in her speech expressed her appreciation to all participants and parties who have participated in this event. “This Nasyid program is one form of our commitment to preserving Islamic religious and cultural values in South Tapanuli. We hope that through activities like this, the art of Nasyid can continue to develop and inspire the younger generation,” she said.
The Regent of South Tapanuli, Dolly Pasaribu, stated that the art of Nasyid is not only entertainment but also contains noble values that can shape the character of the younger generation.
