From Tuesday to Friday, September 17-20, 2024, and Monday to Friday, September 23-27, 2024, Agincourt Resources held a workshop for teachers from SMK Negeri 1 Batang Toru and SMK Negeri 1 Muara Batang Toru. This two-week workshop aimed to enhance teachers’ competencies in aligning vocational subjects with the needs of the agricultural industry and training them in agricultural product business management. Held at the Agricultural Vocational Education Quality Assurance Development Center (BBPPMPV) in Cianjur, the event was attended by 21 participants, consisting of teachers and school principals.
The collaboration between Agincourt Resources and BBPPMPV Pertanian has successfully produced an integrated agricultural vocational school development program. Since 2021, this program has equipped teachers with the skills needed to produce graduates ready to enter the workforce. Training materials delivered by the Head of BBPPMPV Yusuf and his team focused on developing relevant curricula, effective teaching methods, and sustainable agricultural business management practices.
Rohani Simbolon, Community Development Manager at Agincourt Resources, stated, “We hope that the mentoring provided over the past three years will have a significant impact on improving the quality of education at both schools. We hope that the participants can implement the knowledge gained in their teaching activities at the school. We hope that through this workshop, teachers can produce teaching materials that are more relevant to the needs of the agricultural industry in the region. In addition, improving teachers’ competencies in business management is expected to encourage students to be better prepared to enter the workforce,” she said.
