The Youth of SMP Negeri 2 Batang Toru Committed to Preserving the Earth

On Friday, September 20, 2024, Agincourt Resources once again held an inspiring program, Martabe Goes to School, this time targeting students of SMP Negeri 2 Batang Toru. With a theme focused on biodiversity, the program aimed to cultivate awareness of the importance of preserving the natural environment, especially in the biodiversity-rich Batang Toru region. 

A total of 98 students and 4 teachers enthusiastically participated in the activity held at the school. Students were introduced to the concept of biodiversity, the Batang Toru ecosystem, and the crucial role of every living being in maintaining ecological balance.

The program was facilitated by representatives from the Environment Department, namely Supervisor of Environmental Assurance Randyka Nugraha, and Field Assistant 1 of Rehabilitation Nurhasanah Harahap, Tamara Muna Annisa, and Haura Azzahra. 

Randyka Nugraha stated, “The Batang Toru ecosystem is one of the regions with the highest biodiversity in Sumatra. This area is home to various types of flora and fauna. We hope that the students can participate in preserving the environment,” he said.

The Principal of SMP Negeri 2 Batang Toru, Nurhamidah Lubis, welcomed the program. “We greatly appreciate Agincourt Resources’ initiative. This program is very beneficial for our students, as it not only provides knowledge about the environment but also inspires them to participate in environmental conservation,” she expressed.
