Preventing Workplace Accidents at SMK Negeri 1 Muara Batang Toru

On Friday, September 27, 2024, Agincourt Resources successfully conducted another “Martabe Goes to School” program at SMK Negeri 1 Muara Batang Toru. This time, the program, a longstanding initiative of the company, focused on the crucial topic of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). A total of 98 students and 4 teachers enthusiastically participated in the event, which featured a competent speaker from PT United Tractors, Tbk. (UT) Safety Officer, Sonia Yulia. 

During the event, students were introduced to the objectives of OHS, its fundamental principles, and the importance of cultivating a safety culture in daily life, both within the school environment and in their future careers. Sonia Yulia, in her presentation, emphasized that OHS is more than just a set of rules; it is a commitment to safeguarding the well-being of oneself and others. 

“OHS is crucial because it directly relates to our lives. By understanding and implementing OHS principles, we can prevent workplace accidents and occupational diseases,” she stated.

The Principal of SMK Negeri 1 Muara Batang Toru, Siti Masitoh Sinaga, warmly welcomed the Martabe Goes to School program. She expressed that this activity was highly beneficial for the students, especially in providing additional knowledge beyond the school curriculum. 

“We are very grateful to Agincourt Resources for this outstanding initiative. The Martabe Goes to School program has provided many benefits to our students. They not only gained knowledge about OHS but were also motivated to care more about their safety and the safety of those around them,” she said.
